  • Developing and updating the Business Model Canvas and strategy 
  • Exploring product/market fit and customer segmentation 
  • Understanding pricing dynamics and creating revenue and cost projections 

Program

Day 1: (4 hours) 

  • Startup Presentations: BMC and strategy, feedback from instructors.
  • BMC Enhancement: Validation tools, business testing methods.
  • Assumptions vs. Hypotheses: Differentiating knowns vs. assumptions.
  • Homework: Develop BMC through structured testing.

Day 2: (4 hours) 

  • Homework Presentations: Present homework, short feedback.
  • Exploring Life Science Business Models: Evaluate and explore alternatives.
  • Licensing as a Business Model: Key elements and benefits of licensing agreements.
  • Business Model Testing: Transition from hypotheses to experiments.

Day 3: (4 hours) 

  • Presenting Experiments and Revised Strategy: Pitch experiment results, feedback from group and instructors.
  • Review of Business Model Testing: From assumptions to validated experiments.
  • 1:1 Sparring Sessions: Tailored feedback on business experiments.

Format

Three workshop days: Online, Microsoft Teams.

(Participants will work on expanding their strategy and BMC based on Level 1, with tasks to clarify customer, stakeholder, and economic aspects between sessions. By the end, participants will have a comprehensive market fit overview and revenue and cost projections)

Rune Rex

Rune Rex, from the Danish Technological Institute, specializes in services and products for the social and health sector, including medical packaging. With over 5 years of experience in life sciences and more than 10 years in business development, his skills include ideation, prototyping, industrial design, startups, customer development, innovation, user experience, business model design, value proposition design, and 3D printing. 

Prerequisites for Joining

Only for startups enrolled in Life Science Academy for Startups.

Participants should have completed the Strategy & Business Model Level 1 Training Camp or possess equivalent competence, including a developed initial strategy and Business Model Canvas for their life science product/service.
